USPS “Available For Pickup”

To start this off on May 18th I had an order from a vendor go sideways on the shipping due to them forgetting to put my apartment number on the shipping address of the package.

I was unable to intercept it and it ended up going to “return to sender”. Vendor did a re-ship and I got the products just a few days later

Fast forward, I ordered another round from the same vendor. This time when the package went to deliver it was out for delivery and then changed to “Available for Pickup”. Obviously due to this being so recent I’m freaked out, highly paranoid of this being some sort of Controlled Delivery setup.

I am not planning on going to get the package and just chalking it up to a loss. I’m just hoping it was due to a mail backlog and they will just reship it to me.

Let me know if I am being ultra paranoid or not. I just don’t think $300 is worth getting a felony over.

Also, any advice on getting stuff sent to me if my name and address do end up being flagged? A PO Box wouldn’t really solve the issue due to the whole name thing.

Could I use someone else’s name in my house, (with their permission of course) or do I have to find another address to send it to entirely? I don’t really have anyone near me that I would trust with a package like this.

Any help or guidance would be much appreciated

Definitely count this as a lost, as shitty as it is, it’s not worth catching a charge. Maybe ask someone who you trust to use their address? A completely different location. I’ve never had to for that reason but I was living with a chick that was against me running gear so I used my cousin’s address.

Did you confirm with the vendor that they shipped to the correct address the 2nd time?

I think you're just overthinking it. LE doesn't care about a single $300 value pack going to a customer. If it was a floating pack, I wouldn't ship to that address again but your pack did deliver they're just holding it for some reason. I'd have to see the tracking number to get more information on it.

This happens in my area when the dumbass USPS employees mark it as out for delivery but like, forget to load it on the truck. I usually just mark the redelivery option on the website and it shows up in the next 48h. Note this is normal packs not drugs, so do what you will with the info.

Yes the vendor sent confirmation that it was shipped to the correct address this time.

Turns out you were right as always LnL it delivered, I brought the pack in but I’m waiting a few days to open it just in case. Seems to be a case of USPS logistics gone wrong

UPDATE

Pack landed, it was automatically sent for re-delivery, I picked it up from the box but am waiting a few days to open just in case.

PSA

If this happens to you, just remain calm and wait 2 days and see if they just redeliver the pack. I know it’s hard to not get ultra-paranoid when this happens. But its usually just a logistics issue with USPS
