USPS Shuts down?

So Ive read the USPS will run out of money by June and might have to shut down. The president is refusing to bail them out. What would happen if there was no USPS?

How are we going to get our mail? I cant imagine UPS and FED EX being able to pick things up right away. Thoughts?

They been trying to privatize the PO for decades, it operates at a 65 million loss each year. One of my parents retired after 30 years with the PO and they claim it will never happen etc. so we will see.

Ignore it, that’s just horse shit that lefties are trying to push lately. USPS is in no more danger of shutting down than any other federal business/service. Spend a bit of time on non-msm news outlets and you’ll see it’s all just bullshit to whip up concern.

USPS has operated with a net loss for 14+ years now… so to say that they’re “running out” of money would imply that they “had money” for them to “run out of”.

They’re in a shit spot with legislation requiring them to fund pensions 75 years into the future.
https://www.congress.gov/bill/109th-congress/house-bill/6407

The House just voted to repeal the above bill, voting on the below:
https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/2382/text

My two cents on it - the less government fiddle-faddling around in other budgets, the better. Hell, they can’t manage the national deficit so why do they need to throw their hat in the ring and give USPS requirements on funding pensions. Personally, I hate USPS. I think they pay too much and the benefits are too good. Why do I hate that - because they refuse to hold their employees to a professional standard deserving of the pay and benefits. Most of the Postal locations here aren’t worth a damn and quite frankly, Casey Anthony would have a better chance of operating a successful daycare than most of these locations would be at properly delivering the mail.
Yep, my parent was so happy to retire they were like things are changing people want more money to do less work. Only reason they stayed was the pension and benefits, what a mess. The mail won’t stop it will look different for sure.

Someone on here suggested reading non mainstream meadia news, do that! Everyone should do that anyhow, regardless of the issue, or whether you wear a blue tie or a red one. Lefties certainly like to stir the fuckin pot, especially around this time. My $.02? Mail ain’t goin anywhere. I’m not saying to not have extra test or what ever on hand, you should anyway. I’m just sayin.

Exactly.
USPS is one of, if not, THE most well managed and efficiently run federal program. And that’s with them not being able to compete in some areas because of certain laws.

They are asking that everyone buys one book of stamps And that’s enough to keep them going.

That was my main concern. How would it affect us ordering from sources. Always a good idea to stock up anyways.

We would just reinvent the wheel and find new ways to make shit happen man.
Well said! It’s not the strongest, nor smartest that survive, but those best able to adapt.
