Even if
you manage to get a credit anonymously the source still needs to
accept that payment somehow. With a credit card of any kind you need what's called a
payment processor to go out and do the transaction, and any CC processing company is going to be heavily involved with the government or IRS and is going to have a more vested interest in shutting down/finding out if people are doing illegal things (and making them complicit).
With crypto you don't really need a processor, you can just send money wallet to wallet and use exchanges to get funds in and out. Some sources opt to use a payment processor like
Coin Payments for crypto (they charges fees just like the CC payment processors do) to give people a chance to get the funds transferred, automate the process, and help 'lock in' the price (since crypto fluctuates).
At the end of the day it comes down to opsec for the sources.
