Why I recommend not using Coinbase

I wish I saw this before I transferred some money to them yesterday just to get a notification it might take 7 days before I can send the btc. A fucking joke, I guess if you use a debit card it’s instant but they recommend ach transfer over debit card transactions. Probably because you can transfer more $ to bitcoin with a linked bank acct which does nothing except make them more money.

2021 Paypal will start offering crypto.

It would be interesting to see how they do it, if they make for fast transactions and the option to send to an external wallet this could be the easiest option for transactions in the future as these other exchanges are becoming a pain to deal with locking up accounts.

I’ve never liked CoinBase because it seemed like they dragged their feet on everything, but I figured that was caused in part by my own ignorance of crypto in general. After reading some of the comments here, maybe it isn’t me after all. I started checking out out some of the the options suggested here, but I keep running into obstacles. Crypto.com told me they’re not available in my country (US) when I tried to create an account. Some of them only work from phone apps, and I really don’t want to put a crypto app on my phone - I prefer to work from my desktop. Nobody’s mentioned fees, but that’s a concern for me. There are no bitcoin ATM’s in my area that I’m aware of, but even if there were, I read fees are steep with them - 10% or more. CoinMama rejected my account because…well, just because, apparently.

So far, frustrated but still looking. Open to suggestions.

Yea I saw crypto.com recommenced on here awhile ago, I signed up only to be told they don’t work in the US…

I’ve been using the bitcoin atms, they’re probably fucking me in the ass on fees but it’s hassle free.
