Do you have medical insurance? Here’s what you do. Go to your doctor (GP) and tell them that as a kid you were diagnosed with ADD. Tell them that you used to take Adderall and it helped a lot but that as an adult you wanted to be on as little medication as possible and decided to stop taking it.

Things worked out fine because you had a mentally-easy but physically draining job and didn’t have to think or focus too hard. Then tell your Doc that you decided to enroll full time in an online degree program and make a career change and now you work in a technical role with a full time course load and you can’t handle it. You’d like to take a cautious approach to medicating your ADD again and previously had the best results with

Your GP probably wont even ask any questions. Mine didn’t. That story is basically true for me - I walked in recently and told my doc (that I’ve seen for less than a year) the exact same thing and walked out with a prescription…actually she made me go get an echo of my heart first but after years of IVDA and other poor choices I was actually happy to see what was going on in there.

Anyways my script costs me $10 a month and I don’t have to rub shoulders with dark web sex traffickers. Just sayin YMMV

but what if they ask for proof that you were diagnosed with ADD and/or had a script?

They probably won’t. If they do, just say you will need to make some calls to figure it out (your old Doctor can’t release your medical records unless you consent). Then you have a few options:
  1. Tell them that your old Doctor was not able to supply you with the paperwork.
  2. Say you were a child, and this is what your parents told you but was incorrect.
  3. Change Doctors.

This guy gets it. Seriously might be the easiest script to ask for that’s a schedule 2

wow good stuff. this is a dilema that i’m having. Long story short i probably should have been prescribed adderall growing up but my mom always told me I was just lazy haha (nervous haha) i struggled through high school and college and never did get a degree. I want to go back and I know I can’t focus for shit no matter how hard i tried. Nootropics and modafinil didn’t quite do it though Moda helped a little.

This is good advice. I did the same thing, but I had to be diagnosed with ADD first. They will send you to a therapist or you can choose one that is easy to deal with. You and the therapist fill out a questionnaire. The correct answers are easy to figure out just insist you can’t concentrate, your mind wonders, every time you try to finish a test online you can’t finish in the time allotted because your mind keeps wondering. Go online and google ADD remember the symptoms it’s simple and there is no way to really tell if you have it or not. I was taking my son to a therapist and she actually diagnosed me while taking my son one afternoon and I gave my Doctor a letter she wrote for me to give my doctor. It’s pretty simple gust don’t give up and you will get it. Good luck

Hey bro,

Have you ever thought of coffee? I worked full-time, drove 10 hours a week, completed a Master’s program, and had a side job on the weekend all because of coffee.

Just a thought.

Comparing adderall to coffee is like comparing tribulus to 1 gram of injectable testosterone. Not even in the same game. Adderall is the reason I have two degrees.

I got my script by walking into my doctor’s office and saying I needed something to help me study, because I couldn’t concentrate. He said, “Want adderall? that’s what all the college kids like.” It was that easy for me, I’m in the US in the Pacific Northwest btw. No idea how the laws work outside of my state but it was very simple here.

I didn’t use it for like 3 years and recently went back to reup, just said I am going to be studying for certifications and he wrote me the same exact script again.

That’s pretty much how it went for me too.

I wasn’t just bullshitting in order to get a prescription, but I explained to my doctor that I’d been having trouble focusing and staying awake/alert due to my odd work schedule (I’m a shift worker). He suggested trying Adderall, Vyvanse, or Modafinil.

I bounced around between those meds trying various doses for awhile, and eventually he just started writing me prescriptions for all 3.

It’s a prescription. Maybe that’s the difference.
