This link related specifically to vaping but the first two address nicotine consumption in general.

I’ll read it, thanks for providing it. I’m still quitting, but I am just interested in how much nicotine consumption has hindered my progress.

Although what confuses me, is anabolic steroids improve / promote muscle protein synthesis, yes? Well nicotine somewhat suppresses it. Would the use of AAS not overpower the suppressing factor of nicotine in that situation? I understand how it could slow down a natural athletes progress in building muscle, but as someone that is enhanced, wouldn’t the AAS do a better job at promoting muscle protein synthesis and somewhat overpower the negative effects that nicotine has on muscle growth?

That’s

That’s what my main question was. I’ve been hitting my macros daily. I have a coach, I follow the plan. We’re in the off season right now so my growth phase has started. I’m running NPP, mast, HGH, Test. I was confused as to how nicotine would interfere with size gains if I’m a) easily hitting my macros and b) running those specific compounds that very much aid in the process in growing.

I do understand nicotine is bad, but work stress catches up to me sometimes… however, I am on day 1 of quitting.
Well she did just link a study that does state(at least according to the findings of that study) that nicotine(specifically smoking) leads to overall less skeletal muscle and decreased protein synthesis. However whether that's because of the smoke and carcinogens or purely the nicotine seems unclear. Also these were older women of I'm not mistaken not young men with supra physiological amounts of exogenous androgens coursing through their veins every second of the day. I vape too much honestly and I'm working on quitting. I'd say it's safe to say that it's better for your health if you don't. But probably not the end of the world if you do. Good luck on your quitting, I'll likely be doing the same soon. Edit go say that she linked a vaping study with similar findings so there ya go

Fair enough, thank you for linking those. I would think that the effects would not be as pronounced if at all in people running gear. But who knows. Either way it's good to know and I appreciate the info. One more reason to stop.

I have been making incredible gains while using nicotine, my question is if we’d be making even more without using it. I’ve been enhanced for a while now, so I truly do feel like AAS overpower the downsides of nicotine in regards to muscle growth but I do know it’s not healthy.

They absolutely overpower the hindrance of nicotine. But it's possible (probable?) we are missing some(1%-10%?) Either way plenty of reasons to quit

I have came to the conclusion that if you’re sleeping and recovering, your diet is dialed in (hitting all macros), and your training is dialed in, all while being enhanced, nicotine has little to no effect on gains. I’m definitely quitting but I just don’t see how nicotine could overpower the effects of AAS

It's an interesting topic you've brought up. Nicotine and THC can indeed have different effects on people, and it can vary depending on the individual and their fitness goals.
While some bodybuilders and athletes have used nicotine and THC without seemingly negative impacts on their progress, it's essential to remember that everyone's body reacts differently. Dorian Yates and Arnold Schwarzenegger may have had unique experiences.
If you're interested in alternatives, you might want to explore the best delta 8 gummies for sale as an option that doesn't involve nicotine or THC. Ultimately, it's essential to listen to your body and monitor your progress closely.

nicotine/alcohol etc especially if youre using steroids is unnecessary and even further increasing health risks with ZERO upside
atleast steroids have risks/reward you can balance
recreational drugs are all risk with zero reward

Nicotine is a strong aromatase inhibitor which is why our grandfathers and great grandfathers had twice as much testosterone than our dads lol

Used to smoke cigarettes, switched to vaping. Been blasting and cruising PEDs for a few years now. Just now coming across an article that vaping nicotine or THC can effect muscle growth in a negative way (but I’m almost positive this is in regards to natural lifters and not enhanced lifters) due to it effecting protein synthesis.

I’m a bit confused because didn’t Dorian Yates used to smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, and wasn’t Arnold known for his THC and cigar consumption? I also know tons of people (pros too) that use both.

Has nicotine / THC consumption effected your progress in growth in any way? Just curious

Discussions on this topic almost always have someone who is actually just looking for permission, or some włay to justify using their favorite recreational drugs. Still, facts are the drugs themselves. Smoking anything fucks with your lungs. We have less information on vaping, but in some instances, but we know there’s a strong association with COPD. Oral cancers… I mean, damn, you’re looking at someone who lost half of their face.

Chewing nicotine gum or using the skin patches carries some risk, but they’re so much safer than smoking that you can ignore them if you are using them instead of smoking. Same with marijuana edibles.

If you look at nicotine or THC as a PED, you can see where they might fit in. Nicotine is a stimulant, so you get what you might want during a energy, appetite suppression, and all that. If you use a patch or the gum, low risk. THC is more interesting. For some people, it helps sleep, makes you hungry, amd takes the edges off pain. That’s a constellation of effectsbrharmeoundmamgicaol The edible form would be the safest, but people often react “better” to one form than the other. If you are a person who gets the good set and none of the laziness, paranoia, or an estrogen uptick, it may be worth inhaling a small amount.

I vape 2-4 grams of thc per week unfortunately for the past 5 years, I find It terribly addictive, but as far as affecting gains, definitely not, I just started my bulk a couple weeks back and I’m up a significant amount, water fat muscle etc but still easy gains and I recently started having a tougher time catching my breath after I had already put on close to 12lbs in this short period of time so I can say for me personally smoking does not affect my ability to breathe and such, it also helps if you gym and it’s always busy, takes the edge off, just my 2¢

I had a 1900lb total at 242 and dipped snuff the whole time. Finally quit snuff at 48 or 49, but still use lozenges to this day.
