Not a stupid question, nearly all of us were there once and it can appear quite daunting at first, but yeah, if you’re lucky and you live in a city that has bitcoin ATM’s then the entire process can be done in less than an hour. I think the one near me charges a 15% fee.Not a huge fan of coinbase. Takes 20 days to be able to send your funds outside of coinbase. I prefer either a local bitcoin atm (although the fees can be as high as 12% so watch out) or using the cash app. If your’re going to use coinbase MAKE SURE to never send bitcoin using the app, they will deactivate your account. Always send to a secondary wallet such as blockchain first, then send the coins to the sources bitcoin address. Hope this helps
I recently got the cash app but haven’t used it yet. I have coinbase but would like to avoid the fees. Let’s say I buy bitcoin on the cash app, and a source gives me the bitcoin wallet to direct payment to. Can I send directly to it like I do on coinbase? It sounds like an extra step is required. I’m looking at making a purchase this week and don’t want to screw it up.Use the cash app and then withdraw funds to blockchain… You will need to be verified on cash app to withdraw Bitcoin and it takes up to a week… So start the process now… Once you are verified you can buy Bitcoin with no fee and send it to the blockchain wallet. From there you can send and exact amount to the source you are buying from… Takes me about 3 minutes total to buy Bitcoin and then send it to a source… Way better than coinbase
You have to send the bitcoin to the blockchain wallet first before sending the $$$ to the source. This applies if you are using cash app or coinbase. Something to do with those apps being regulated and blockchain wallet not being regulated.Fatbricks" pid='37137' dateline='1547405204:

Pardon my ignorance on this. When using coinbase, the source has sent a long sequence of letters and numbers-a BTC wallet as I understand it-and I have just typed that in and hit send and was done. Is Cash App like that too?Tony Parks" pid='37146' dateline='1547410078:

Take the time right now to begin the verification process for the cash app… Make sure you get verified for Bitcoin withdrawal… Takes up to a week… Yes you can transfer directly to a source but the problem is the Bitcoin withdrawal is shown in actual Bitcoin and not us dollars so you don’t know for sure if you are sending the exact amount required… Just withdraw it to blockchain, takes about 20 seconds more… Then you can choose the exact dollar amount to send to the source… Trust me, I have tried it both ways and one time I needed payment verification for a payment I sent and it took like 2 weeks to get it from the cash app customer service… Ever since then I always transfer from cash app to blockchain… I learned from my mistake (luckily I didn’t get fucked by it)… But seriously… Using this little process to get and send Bitcoin is the cheapest and easiest way I know… Once you do it once or twice it will be so simple for you… Sometimes you do lose a dollar or 2 in the transfer between the 2 platforms, but that is due to the fluctuating Bitcoin price and not a fee that is charged by either service… For reals though… After reading this I would open your cash app and start the process of being verified… You have nothing to lose by doing this and next time you need Bitcoin, you will be good to goFatbricks" pid='37137' dateline='1547405204:

No… Go to blockchain.com and create an account… Withdraw your funds to there… When you create an account on blockchain find where it says request, this will give you a bitcoin address. Enter this as the address in your cash app as the Bitcoin withdrawal address… The money should be in your blockchain account pretty much as soon as you refresh the page. As soon as that clears up you will be able to move money… I looked online and I was told if you hit up cash app support on Twitter it usually gets them to speed up the process… I tried it and it seemed to work faster than a week so IDK if it worked or not… But doesn’t hurt to tryFatbricks" pid='37151' dateline='1547411411:
