Insulin Pin - Help me Fast Track

I see so much conflicting info please help me. Some say use 1/2". Some say 1". Some say 1" no good bcs very high risk of breaking off.

Also where do i get them? I tried getting my last batch on amazon. But i swear i must have gotten a bad batch or something. The pins appear sharp but they are dull or something and beyond painful when i pin.

i need to switch to insulin immediately hehe.

I use Amazon every time. They're not always top notch quality but they're always usable and fine. I'm running 4 compounds so if I use the same pin to draw out of all 4 vials then I'll usually end up using another to inject myself because it's gotten dull after four rubber stoppers. Haven't had them as bad as you're describing though

https://www.adwdiabetes.com/ was the last place I got mine... Length of pin only matter if you want SQ or IM. If someone had one break off in them, they were doing something super stupid or had a 1:100000 bad quality syringe. When you get them, try breaking off the needle from the syringe lol

If you are trying to draw and inject with the same pin your gonna have a bad time if that's what your doing. Draw with a regular 25g and backload the slim pin

the ones i get on amazon are brand name so unless youre getting the weird no-brand ones its the same thing

I only use gpz, been using them since they were “getpinz”. after I saw a post here about brand name knockoffs on Amazon, I’ll continue with gpz, they are not expensive enough to take the chance.

I’ve never used Amazon, but I’ve heard a lot of people get their pins from there,

I have used GPZ med lab supply and medical warehouse direct. Just get on Google and look up reviews. It’s super easy to get a hold of pins.

Depending on what country and state you’re in, you could even walk into a Walmart or any pharmacy and ask them for insulin syringes

As far as length, I always use 1 inch if I want a half inch needle I just stick it in halfway that’s all

always use different pins to draw from and to inject, once you stick a pin through a rubber stopper it gets pretty dull , I use a big gauge and a 3 mL syringe to draw from the vile then I backload an insulin syringe

okay i am using diff pins to draw and inject...... i guess my question is this...

when im using insulin im guessing i cant inject a full ML? So should i do more frequent, smaller shots? if so, what ml do you think. i dont like having so much pip i cant move a limb.

Should i be aiming for subq with the insuling needles? i prefer sub q.... ill just jab it in my delt i guess sigh

it depends how frequently youre injecting. ive pinned almost an entire mL multiple times with a .5in insulin needle in my delt, but i wouldnt do that more than like once a week. personally i just shove it in hard and do it IM, you could do subq but i think youre even more limited with how much you should pin then.

I use 1/2in and I think I’ve only ever ordered slin pins from Amazon or GPZ. About the same quality. I go with whatever is cheaper.

Regardless of brand or where you get them they seem to dull really easy. I usually use them for lcarnitine and hcg on the same shot and by the time I pin they are dull af.

You can sort of backfeed another slin pin to eliminate this but honestly though I just draw everything into a 3ml and fit with a 1/2in 28g needle.

It’s crazy how much a single draw dulls a neeele let alone 2
