Recently I’ve had to go train at another location of my gym and I went yesterday during a peek time and was completely blown away by the number of AAS users I saw. Literally if I had to guess, 40% of the guys and girls training looked juiced and my gym is just a standard fitness center, certainly no Golds Gym or Metroflex. I guess I’ve been juicing for a long time but feel it’s much more widespread than it used to be. Was it Zyzz? Instagram? Shit I’m totally confused as to where all of this came from. I live in a very materialistic and image driven area but I guess I never expected to see so many people indulging in the saucery. Any ideas as to what brought all this about?
The internet. Before, if you wanted to juice, you had to make a connection at your gym with someone else who juiced to try to get a hookup. This was a barrier to entry, as some people were new to lifting, didn’t make friends easy, and the veteran would normally only help guys who looked like they had lifted for a while. Add to the fact that it was illegal, a taboo topic, and expensive, and it made it very hard to get.
Now, it is much cheaper and easier. You just submit an order to a source online, pay in crypto, and the pack is at your door in under a week so you can start pinning. Sources aren’t asking for photos of people’s physiques or diet/lifting history; if they have money, they don’t care.
I would guess that a lot of these people were paying hundreds of dollars a month for shitty GNC-like supplements that did almost nothing. So now that it is so easy to buy and get info, they switch to gear as they get more results and it is about the same price or cheaper.
